How to Get Out of Overwhelm

Struggling with How to Get out of Overwhelm?

Do you ever feel like you’re constantly treading water? Tasks pile up, requests come from all sides, and by the end of the day, you’re left exhausted and wondering where the time went. If overwhelm is a frequent visitor in your life, it might be a sign of a hidden culprit: people-pleasing.

People-pleasing is the tendency to prioritize the needs and desires of others above your own. While it might seem like a harmless act of kindness, it can quickly become a burden.  Saying “yes” to every request, volunteering for every committee, and bending over backwards to make everyone happy might leave you feeling constantly stretched thin.

Here’s the connection: the more you prioritize others, the less time and energy you have for yourself. This can lead to a feeling of constant overwhelm, resentment, and burnout. People-pleasing is a common struggle, and it often goes unnoticed.

But there’s hope! Recognizing your people-pleasing tendencies is the first step towards positive change. By understanding this dynamic, you can start setting healthy boundaries, prioritizing your own needs, and finally take a breath.
