People Pleasing Addiction

Do you have a people pleasing addiction?

Do you have a people pleasing addiction?

If you’re doing this…   You Likely Have a People-Pleasing Addiction.

When you do finally have the courage to say ‘No’, do you then feel guilty about it?

Do you spend the rest of your day, or week even, worrying about it? Obsessing about it? Running the scenario over and over again in your head?

Doubting yourself, wondering if you should have maybe said yes? Or that you should have gone into explanation of why you’re saying No?

Hear me out… You could be a doormat and not even realize it. Here’s one strong indicator your boundaries are weak, likely resulting in overwhelm, stress and exhaustion.

Here are some indicators in which being excessively nice can resemble addictive behavior:

Dependency on external validation: Constantly seeking approval and validation from others for one’s actions and behavior, to the point where it becomes a driving force in decision-making and self-worth.

Fear of rejection or conflict avoidance: Avoiding confrontation or expressing dissenting opinions for fear of upsetting others or being rejected, leading to a pattern of passive compliance.

Loss of personal identity: Prioritizing others’ needs and desires over one’s own to the extent that their own preferences, values, and boundaries become blurred or neglected.

Difficulty setting boundaries: Struggling to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in relationships, often leading to feelings of resentment, exhaustion, or being taken advantage of.

Perpetual self-sacrifice: Consistently putting others’ needs before one’s own, even at the expense of personal well-being, leading to burnout, stress, and diminished quality of life.

Inability to say no: Feeling compelled to say yes to requests or obligations, even when it’s not in their best interest, due to an overwhelming need to please others or avoid disappointment.

If you think you have a people pleasing addiction and you struggle with always being that “nice girl”, I put together a free training, “The Nice Girl’s Guide to Saying NO”. Drop me a comment below and I’ll post a direct link.

I’m Donna, a Wellness Coach… I broke free from living a life of accommodating everyone else’s needs… to living a life on my own terms, every single day.

It then became my mission to help as many women as possible who are suffering from chronic people-pleasing and inability to set firm healthy boundaries.
